Title tags are one of the most important aspects of making money on the Internet. They are seldom discussed because they are, sometimes, quite boring to talk about. There are so many details you have to get right with Internet marketing to make money, however, it also doesn’t take a rocket scientist. To make money online, you have to pay attention to everything you do. The cumulative effect of your choices leads to failure or success. So pay attention to all these boring small tasks because it is in your best interest.

It is good that you are hoping to brand your business’s name and you have lots of options available when you want to do this. But that doesn’t mean that your page’s title is the best place to put that name.

Searchers are going to find your home website or your home page if you use keywords that are relevant. No matter what the name of your business, unless it’s a household name, people will never know it or guess it. In other words, it’s not the strongest contender for search phrases that will get typed into the Google search box. So work hard to avoid being so completely in love with the name that you just have to use it within your site’s title tag. Your SEO score is going to be much higher when you use keyword phrases for optimizing your tags.

Most novices that have little experience building websites or blogs will often make the common mistake of placing their website URL in the title tag area. Newbies can actually place it in the title tag throughout their entire website, not just the home page. This actually accomplishes nothing, and destroys your SEO optimization on your website. Like shooting yourself in your foot, your SEO will tank because of this error. The search engines will score your website, giving each little piece an SEO score. It is easy to get penalized for simply putting something in the wrong place, or forgetting to add something that should be there. For more tips check out Innerlinkit.com.

There are no real tricks to properly optimizing your title tags. The one exception to the rule is dynamic pages. Not so long ago you could use any one of hundreds of different software programs that would take whatever phrase you typed in and then use that phrase to fill out all of the really important factors for any type of website page you wanted to build. It used to be called “dynamic page insertion” but it doesn’t get used very much anymore (if at all). Optimizing your title tags for each of your pages is really easy to do especially if your website is a blog and has a SEO plugin. Figuring out title tags isn’t that hard because they’re relatively simple and have very few rules. If you aren’t yet that well versed in SEO, do yourself a giant favor and change this. There are lots of great ebooks you can find on the subject but do make sure you are learning from the most credible resources you can find.
